FSF10 introduces students to the French language in practical, everyday contexts. The course focuses on developing basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through engaging, real-world topics. Students build foundational grammar and vocabulary while gaining an appreciation of Francophone cultures.
Unit 1: Everyday Expressions and Foundations

FSF2D assessments build language proficiency through performance-based tasks, oral communication, and written expression:
- 70% of the final grade is based on coursework, and assignments.
- 30% of the final grade is based on final evaluations:
- 10% Culminating written task (multi-paragraph essay or narrative)
- 20% Final exam (reading comprehension, grammar, listening, and writing)
All assessments align with Ontario curriculum expectations and are designed to build fluency, confidence, and intercultural communication skills in French.
