SNC1W – Science is an engaging and interdisciplinary course that introduces students to the foundational principles of biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science. Designed to build scientific literacy and curiosity, this course helps students understand how science is deeply connected to the world around them—from the ecosystems we depend on to the electricity powering our homes.
Through inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and critical analysis, students develop the skills to observe, question, and investigate scientific phenomena. The course emphasizes hands-on exploration, collaborative projects, and real-world applications, encouraging students to think creatively and ethically about scientific problems. By learning to interpret data, conduct safe and effective experiments, and communicate their findings, students become confident science learners prepared for more advanced studies in the sciences and beyond.
Whether students are pursuing future careers in healthcare, engineering, environmental studies, or simply building a solid academic foundation, SNC1W lays the groundwork for success by cultivating problem-solving abilities, digital literacy, and a global perspective on science and innovation.
