AMU10 – Grade 9 Music is an immersive course that introduces students to the universal language of music through performance, composition, and critical listening. Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time or refining existing musical skills, this course provides a welcoming space to explore music as both an art form and a powerful means of personal and cultural expression.
Students engage in hands-on learning as they practice instrumental techniques, compose original pieces, and interpret notated and improvised music. They learn the foundational elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and form—skills essential to understanding, performing, and creating music across genres and traditions.
Beyond performance, students explore the deeper role music plays in society. From examining music’s connection to global cultures and social movements to exploring its power to communicate environmental and emotional themes, students gain a broader appreciation of music as a reflection of human experience.
Through creative projects, collaborative exercises, and listening activities, AMU10 nurtures confidence, discipline, and artistic voice. It’s an ideal course for students interested in the performing arts, audio production, or anyone seeking a creative outlet that supports emotional growth, teamwork, and cultural awareness.
